As Exhibitions Project Assistant for the Enrique Bostelmann: Apertures and Borderscapes exhibition at the Berman Museum of Art, I had the pleasure of organizing over ten free public programs, including:

  • Picturing the Border Speaker Series:

    • Chef Christina Martinez and Eugenio Salas in conversation with Jovanna Venegas

    • Michelle Angela Ortiz and Dr. Veronica Montes in conversation with Rafael Damast

    • Obed Arango and Idalia Vasquez-Achury in conversation with William Schwaller

  • Apertures, borders and fruit trees dance performance, performed and choreographed by Amalia Colón-Nava and Jon Gruver

  • Family art workshops led by teaching artists: Paolo Mentasti, Jaime Alvarez, and Idalia Vasquez-Achury

  • Latin Jazz Social - Organized in concert with the Montco Jazz Fest, featured the Esperanza Artists and Musicians from Latin America (AMLA) ensemble. Artist Eugenio Salas was commissioned to activate his Communal Griddle sculpture which functioned as a camera obscura/shadow-play performance while the artist prepared quesadillas for the guests.
